The Hero

Using the skin

he had received from the giant,

the tailor made a garment.

When the people saw it,

they believed

that he was the hero

who had defeated the giant.

The people all

faced in the same direction,

turning their backs

to the light.

Sometimes,

people choose

the story they want to believe

rather than the truth.

That story

quietly begins to shape

the world around them.

But the tailor alone,

knowing the truth,

stood facing

the light.
